Under saddle Programs
We offer programs where we teach YOU how to start your own horse under saddle or re-start under saddle.
Our approach to these programs is based on science, not conventional methods or techniques. Starting and re-starting a horse under saddle can be a wonderfully bonding experience between human and horse when done correctly. Achieving this goal yourself allows you to build the knowledge, skills, connection, confidence and understanding of every process involved. It means that YOU get to enjoy the journey.

“Inpatient”
Limbic system therapy program
6-8 week program - $550 per week
If you feel that your horse is struggling with high or chronic levels of stress or is exhibiting unsafe, extreme or concerning behaviours, Charlotte can help!
Charlotte specialises in trauma and stress, and as such, has developed a highly specialised program to help your horse at the CMT Brain Training Facility.
The CMT Limbic system therapy program is a 6-8 week “inpatient” program. This program covers:
Weeks 1 & 2:
- Stress detox
- Nervous system resetting and regulation
Weeks 3 & 4:
- Reintegration of sensory input
- Reconditioning and reshaping neural feedback
- Introduction and development of self-regulation mechanisms
Weeks 5 & 6:
- Positive associated neural feedback
- Cognitive, motor and memory integration
- Expansion and consolidation of neural cognitive regulation
Weeks 7 & 8 (Only for severe cases)
- Continuation, reinforcement and consolidation of weeks 1-6
On completion of this program, your horse will leave us with:
The capacity to self-regulate
The capacity to respond appropriately to stress
Elimination of chronic stress behaviour
More self-confidence and confidence with the learning process
The capacity to be calm and relaxed
The capacity to learn through cognition and not fear
The capacity to engage and focus on tasks
The capacity to slow down and connect to the environment appropriately
The capacity to manage human error whilst you learn to apply your new skills
This program also includes regular bodywork sessions to help your horse get the most out of their therapy.
As part of the training program, you will be given our online course to complete while your horse is learning with us. Although this program is designed to help your horse, you are part of their support network, so it is vital that you learn what your horse will need from you when they come home.
This fee includes limbic system therapy program, regular bodywork, agistment, top quality food, your online course and follow-up support. It does not include follow-up lessons.
We highly recommend that you have follow up lessons with Charlotte once your horse goes home, so that you and your horse can continue to develop the skills and knowledge needed to maintain a healthy mindset and relationship. This journey will be transformational for both you and your horse, and we would love to continue helping you both strengthen the bond and resilience in yourselves and your relationship.
