Charlotte’s story…

Charlotte has been involved with horses from the age of Six. Using horse psychology to build horse/human relationships became a passion for her after attending a horsemanship clinic in 2004 when she saw that there was a whole other way we can be with horses. From that clinic onwards she researched, observed, discussed, practiced and learned everything she could about horse psychology. She continues to do these things to this day.

Charlotte spent over 10 years studying towards becoming a doctor and developed a significant amount of her clinical skills and knowledge whilst working in the emergency medical response in an ambulance for seven years.

Charlotte’s academic and university background consists of pathology and laboratory medicine, which included molecular genetics, cancer research and biomedical science. After many years of clinical experience she decided to follow her passion of the brain and behaviour and pursue studies in neuroscience.

Whilst working in the emergency response medical field, Charlotte learned a lot about working under pressure and in critical situations, as well as understanding psychological trauma, which lead her to pursue neuroscience. This is where Charlotte’s true fascination of the brain and behaviour began. Realising that, although she loved helping people in a clinical setting, she fell in love with transforming peoples’ minds and bodies by teaching them how to enrich their lives through mental and emotional resilience and wellbeing. Over time, she developed a profoundly deep passion for trauma and stress from a neuroscience and neuropsychology perspective. As such, she has spent many years dedicating herself to developing this as her specialty in both horses and humans. She continues to build on her geeky neuroscience love and apply this to all of her teachings.

Charlotte completed her qualifications in Bowen therapy for horses and humans in 2012 and over the years has added other modalities such as massage and deep tissue to her bodywork repertoire. Behind the scenes, she has been helping people build their relationships with their horse through lessons, since 2006 whilst studying and working front-line and loved every second of it.

In 2020, Charlotte decided to follow what she loves most and created CM Training so she could combine her deepest passions: the brain, body and behaviour of horse and human and specialising in trauma and stress. She continues to learn and stay up to date with the latest science and research in her field and apply it to everything and everyone she teaches. She loves to connect with people and to be a part of their journey. She embraces and encourages her uniqueness and is not scared to offer new concepts to this ever evolving world. She strives for extraordinary every day and settles for nothing less. She believes that true leaders will always be faced with criticism and cynicism, but they have the courage to look past that, stay humble, be grateful and help the world one person at a time so they can develop the leader within themselves.

Her goal is to eliminate horse and human mental and emotional suffering and give tools to build resilience, confidence, relationships and connection. To help heal the human and horse mind one person at a time through building a deep understanding of the mind and behaviour. Share strategies and develop knowledge and skill so that one person can pass that on to another and help make a difference in someone else’s life.
Finally to help people develop a deep sense of connection, belonging and purpose with themselves, their horses and all relationships that encompass their world.
